Born and raised in Sidcup, Kent (cue for cheap cracks from comedians), Debbie moved about a bit between the ages of 14 and 30 before settling down in the place that she’d decided at the age of 3 was her spiritual home – the Cotswolds.

A resident of a lovely little village for more years than she cares to admit, she has finally got her work-life balance right and is combining family life with freelance writing and a fab part-time job helping to run a charity.

Debbie’s seven year old daughter Laura attends the village school and is regularly told how lucky she is to be growing up in a delightful rural setting, where Enid Blyton would feel quite at home.

Debbie is married to a Scot named Gordon whom she met in Swindon – and not, as local rumour had it, a Swede named Scottie.

She has no intention of ever moving house again.
